Aim
The island’s modern story began when Mike Conner purchased the fort with a vision: a private venue for family gatherings and memorable celebrations. His passion for the island laid the foundations for what it is today.

​Now, that vision is carried forward by Mike’s son, Ben Conner, who leads the next chapter of Thorne Island’s story, supported by long-time friend Ben Chaffey. Driven by Ben Conner’s commitment to preserving the island’s rich heritage, they are ushering in a new era for Thorne Island — continuing its legacy and opening the island to the public for the first time in almost 30 years, offering exclusive access to events within one of Wales’ most remarkable coastal fortress settings.
