Aim
The island’s modern story began when Mike Conner purchased the fort with a vision: a private venue for family gatherings and memorable celebrations. His passion for the island laid the foundation for what it is today.

Now, that vision is carried forward by Mike’s son, Ben Conner, together with long-time friend Ben Chaffey. They are dedicated to opening Thorne Island to the public for the first time in almost 30 years, providing exclusive access to events in one of Wales' most remarkable settings. They are joined by a shared love for heritage and hospitality that the island has on offer.

Together, Ben Conner and Ben Chaffey are bringing in a new era for Thorne Island by preserving its rich history, continuing its story and opening its doors for people to experience the wonder of this renowned coastal fortress.
